The Strauss Free Raised® Story

Strauss Free Raised® is embracing open-pasture grazing to cultivate products in a way that is good for the animals, the environment and the consumer. By accepting the gifts that nature provides, we are able to offer meats with superior taste and nutrition, while providing optimal care and welfare for the animal. Strauss - Free Raised is a natural choice to feel good
about. That is our pledge to you.

“Research shows that animals living in a natural environment, with a close relationship with their mother, and nutrition being mother’s milk and natural pastures, combines to give an exceptionally stress free environment; which makes for exceptionally tender meat.”

Meet Our Family
Strauss Brands Inc. has greatly evolved, grown and diversified since its inception in 1937 when Milton Strauss and his brothers founded Strauss Brothers Packing, south of Milwaukee, WI. Seventy years later, under the watchful eye of third generation owners, Randy and Tim Strauss, Strauss Brands continues to be an industry leader.

Inspired by their concern for animal welfare, the Strauss family spent years researching alternative veal raising systems. Ultimately, they discovered the most humane and compassionate system was the one mother nature provides.

Inspired by that simplicity, the Strauss family is proud to re-introduce the almost lost art of pasture-raised products with the Strauss Free Raised® brand – providing exceptional quality and flavor, while raised in a healthy, humane and sustainable way.
